On my recent congress trip to Istanbul in January 2024, I got a chance to meet two lovely ladies from the Turkish Association of University Women: board member Başak Ovacık and president Rahsan Bilge. Başak (pictured here with me) works as an university lecturer in gender studies.
The Turkish Association https://www.tukd.org.tr/ has nearly 2000 members and 39 local associations troughout the country. The association makes valuable volunteer work as they seek to improve the status of women in Turkey. Their main target group is the girls who reside in the rural areas of Turkey and lack education. My warmest thanks to the Turkish Association and good luck with the great work for women and girls.
